Same bird, different lighting. I am not happy with this bird. While working in the yard this morning, this bird flew over me with one of my songbirds in it's claws. The mate/parent of that bird kept attacking the hawks back in an effort to get it to let go. My eyes teared. Yes, I know, it's survival. I just don't want to see it. Anyway...she's back this afternoon for a snack so I came in.

It is sad and nature, but not nice when it happens - we have a sparrowhawk which comes down to attack the songbirds etc in our garden from time to time - the perils of feeding the small birds, the hawks soon work out where their next meal is coming from...

Thanks, everyone. I was quite depressed over this. :((( Feeling better now because I haven't seen the hawk in a bit.. The part that got me was the other bird trying to free it's mate/child.
